EGR Delete Problems

I deleted my whole EGR system due to valve being stuck. The truck has had an H&S Mini Maxx on it for roughly 40,xxx miles now DPF deleted as well. As I read, the Mini Maxx allows every EGR part to be removed while running DPF delete tunes. Now the truck is throwing a few codes and has no power. P0405-Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit Low P0472-Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor Low P-Exhaust Gas Recirculation Throttle Position Control Range/Performance. Can someone please help tell me what's goin on now...

Not sure about the Mini-Maxx for sure though I have one.

But from what I read certain tunes do and some don't. I don't plan on deleting EGR, so I didn't read to in depth. But I understood it as they disable the valve from working, not delete it. But I imagine there are tunes available that do it.

Well I run the easy tunes on mine and it can't be deleted or else it wouldn't throw any EGR codes. I guess I need to try mild tunes or hot damn 300.

Ok got the EGR DTC codes gone. Had to run wild tunes. Now I am getting exhaust pressure sensor low DTC code. Would that cause the motor to lose power? I still can't build boost over 10 PSI and if I floor it, the truck falls on it's face.

The pressure sensor is located where the DOC connect to the DPF on top of the flange, check the sensor and make sure it is still connected and not damaged.

Well I removed the up pipe that the EPS was plugged in to so now I'm gonna drill and tap the block off plate and reinstall the 1/4" tube and sensor. I wasn't aware that sensor had to be plugged in after the EGR delete and that pipe should be left. Oh well, it'll be in tonight.

Ok this just got confusing and i want to make sure i understand you correctly.

I think you are talking about the EGR block off plates if you did a EGR delete. If the tuning is correct none of the previous plugs that went into the EGR valve need to be plugged in. However they should be safely covered and sealed off with silicone and then tied off to prevent them from getting caught in the fan.

The EPS (Exhaust Pressure Sensor) is located between the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)and the DOC (Diesel Oxidation catalyst) under the truck. Although most aftermarket DPF delete tuning docent use this sensor the PCM still needs to know its there and receive information from it or a fault code is thrown.

Well maybe I am calling this sensor the wrong name. While doin the EGR delete, I also removed the pipe that connected to the back side of the low cooler and runs behind the head into the up pipe. So instead of the block off plate being below the head it's now up top. The stainless tubing line that used to be attached to that pipe, I had to tap the block off plate to reinstall it and plug that sensor back in so my truck would run properly. Just got it done about an hour ago and it runs great now.

Ok gotcha, sounds like you removed the EBP sensor(Exhaust back pressure sensor) and EBP tube, and that would cause a lot of issues left unhooked. Glad you got it up and running, but placing the sensor directly in the block off plate without the tube in place might cause too much heat on the sensor resulting in premature failure. The factory setup has that tube first and foremost to help dissipate the heat as well as making the sensor a little more accessible and protected. If you have any issues you might what to address that issue first.

Id hate to see you stranded as a result.

Here is what the sensor tube looked like.

How hard was it to remove the up-pipe down to the horizontal EGR cooler? I am in process of completing the EGR delete and was wondering about going this route to free up some more engine space. I have concerns about getting to the bolts on back side of head that holds pipe in place. Also how hard is it to get it out with cab on? I am not interested in cutting anything for this removal so I can put back on if needed.
