I do believe you said it Eddie. You are on your own when it comes to supercharges for the inline 6. It bites big time. I've done alot of searching and I can't find a supercharger for the inline 6. Hell I have better odds at winning the state lottery!
I've been thinking of putting the intake and exhaust manifolds off of a FI truck on my 300, and hooking a supercharger into it, with the carb mounted on the s/c, I know that a carb alone on the fi intake manifold will make loads of torque, but it won't idle, so, with forced induction, it'll make more power, and it'll probably idle.

I got (not very far) into the Kompressor project, and realized that because of the extreme length of the 300, the packaging engineers left no meaningful room at all beween damper and radiator for a bolt-on drive pulley or drive belt...which meant a blower pulley driven inline with the existing accessory drive...which meant a whole lot of bracket fabrication (done properly, a whole new acesssory casting)...which meant a turbocharger (with its own problems)...and any type of forced induction meant an upgrading of the fuel delivery system.
That last is doable, and microscopically inching forward, including higher-volume in-tank electric fuel pumps, adjustable fuel pressure, and sustitution of the speed-density EFI with MAF SEFI.
I know there is a lot of fabrication involved. but the Eaton M90 shows very good promise. The 300 is in the upper end of its capacity range, according to Eaton. It can be mounted in any position, even upside down. The parasitic drag is almost gone when your not on boost.
Magnacharger sells longer and shorter drive snouts as well as pully sizes.
It would use the existing serpentine (late models) belt system, so that problem is solved.
Ford used these a lot, on Thunderbird SC, and they are nearly indistructable.
I hope this helps.
I recieved an email from Jay Crouch, the general manager of Clifford Performance, saying Vortech does make a supercharger system for the 4.9(300six). You will have to call Vortech for information and prices on it.
Jeez, I started that thread a year ago, John, how little things have changed! I still get passed by those little German economy
cars on the freeway that say, "Kompressor" on the trunk.
I'm collecting parts now for a ground-up motor, and am on the fence: naturally-aspirated, or supercharged? I know I'm not going to use a centrifugal, neither mechanical nor turbine.
I think gear-driven off the crank/cam gearing would be the way to do it.
Where would I go to find out more about the Eaton? I've been thinkin' Whipple for the past few months, but $3K+ is a toughie...

I saw a guy here in central arkansas the other day that had a 94 f150, 300 six that was turbocharged. It hauled some serious booty and sounded like a 18 wheeler when the turbo spooled up. He said it got 20 mpg, and probably from my guess, had around 500 or more lb-ft of torque. the turbo was a small Garrett unit, I dont know the model, but it looked right at home on the side of the big 6. Just a thought, but it looks to me that a turbo would be the way to go.
One should be able to turbocharge a EFI 300-6 with few problems. Reducting the exhaust, bigger fuel injectors and mounting the darn thing would be the biggest problems. If one had a MAF EFI engine instead of a SAD EFI, it would be easier computer wise.

Highly Modified and more to come!
If any figure out a way to make this work with the Turbo please let me know the basic go-arounds of it. I am going to run a Carb but i have seen boxes that the carb fits into and seals it off so you can use forced induction. Wondering if you can use this with either huffer and make it work for the carb. Any info would be great...i like the idea. Thanks!
