Ah, British Sports cars!! The MGA 1500 with a Datsun 1200 head was one mean motor!!
Had a Sunbeam throw a rod through the side of the block, coming down over the mountains in California. I coasted (!) almost 20 miles, to a town, stopping 100 yards or so, from the off-ramp. The first vehicle by, was a truck, with a chain, and he towed me the other little bit to the town, hitch-hiked to work, was about 20 minutes late...just an old story....

Look closely at the picture in the first link, note the oil pan near the rear tire, also note the spinny round thingies coming out from under the engine.
You may also want to check out the Driver as his interest seems to have shifted South of the Cars initial direction.
