the motor is a 91 roller cam but the FI stuff is 86 F-150 i just changed the head gaskets on it and it doest seem like it is really missing just running rough like a big vaccum leak my guess is the intake didnt seal right, just wanted some other suggestions before i tare the intake off of it again.
what did the 91 motor come out of? if you take starter fluid and spray around the intake/vac lines and rpms increase you found your problem. are you running the 86 computer? whats your fuel pressure at the rail, whats timing set at?
LTD crown vic its the 15426378 fireing order i doubble checked and tripple checked the wires, im still running all the original stuff from my truck, all that im usein from the 91 are the block and the heads, timing isnt set yet i have been messing around with it seeing if that is the issue and it isnt no matter where i set it it still runs rough.
get the motor to top dead center and see where the rotor is pointing on the dizzy cap. its possible you have the distributor 180* out. timing should be 10*btdc with spout connector removed. you didnt rearange the injector wiring right
there aint no way its 180 out becuase i was just driveing it it runs it will idle it will idle all day long if you want it to it is just rough it doesnt back fire it just aint running right
so then have you set the timing to 10*btdc with spout connector removed. are you running the truck computer and harness right. whats your fuel pressure at the rail and have you done a compression test?
