Squeaking when hubs are engaged
I recently had my 2002 F-250, 7.3, SC in West Virginia mountains. When I manually put the hubs in, there was a squeak coming from the front end. It was similar to what a u-joint sounds like when going bad, but not quite the same. There was no change when I engaged 4x4, same noise. When I returned to the hard surface and put the hubs back in Auto, no squeak! At first I thought it might have been u-joint, but I'm not so sure now.
I know there has been some discussion on similar problem; any additional thoughts? Thanks, Gangster
