1.6 vs. 1.7 RR

Will i see any increase (or decrease) in performance with 1.7 vs 1.6 Roller rockers? What RPM range will be affected and how?

I have a 351w freshly rebuilt with edelbrock performer heads (1.90/1.60 valves), cam and intake, holley truck avenger 670, shorty headers, HEI distributor, 1.6 roller rockers with hardened push rods.

The engine is in my jeep mated to a np435/205, dana 60 and 14bolt locked axles with 5.38 gears and 39.5 TSL's. The jeep is mainly used for trail rides with occasional mud bogging or rockcrawling action.

The Jeep sees basically no highway use. In the highway, my Powerstroke Superduty and trailer do the job.

It is like increasing the lift of the cam and since they open farther they stay open
longer. If you already have a cam that is far from stock it might not help at all.

The 1.7's will increase lift at the valve but not change duration. -- Chuck

If you already have 1.6's, buying 1.7's isn't going to change much other than lightening your wallet. Buying them first is the way to go, if you're going to use em. Same price for either.
