No. most guys complain that it wastes fuel. It is supposed to help your truck warm up in the winter but some guys have reported no change after unplugging it.

It restricts the exhuast flow to put a load on the engine to help it warm up faster, problem is that it doesn't work well and malfunctions frenquently!
yup i've had mine unplugged since last winter with no problems... starts and runs great in the cold with pretty much the same warm up time (if not on high idle, on high idle the cab is warm within 10-15 minutes below freezing)
