Cab mounts 50f1 ?

I sat the cabon the frame, but I have a gap between the cab and the frame. About an inch. When I took the cab off the frame I didn't see any kind of a rubber pad or anything else there. Is there a pad that goes there or what's the deal with the gap. Any one know what I should do.

The cab should sit off the frame. I just looked my F-4 and there is a 1/2" gap but I don't have my rear cab mounts bolted to the frame year. You have to have some space for movement and to clear the seat brace that runs under the cab.

Rusty,

Yup, there should be a gap between the cab and frame. As Bob mentioned the cab "rides" over the frame, or at least at the rear it does. There is a small rubber spacer on the front cab mounts, maybe 1/4" thick at the most.

Do I bolt it down tight? Or is there a steel spacer through it. If I bolt it in tight It pulls the cab down to it.

The 2 dog bone arms hold the back of the cab up a little. There are small rubber pads in the front with some shims if needed.

I found a mounting kit from LMC for $43.00 for the rubber mounts, steel plates, and nuts and bolts. Does that sound about right.

Rusty, I'd replace all the mounts with the LMC kit. I chased a front fender height problem for a week before I found that the rear mounts let the cab tilt slightly. The drivers side of the cab was 1/2" lower than the pass, and it made quite a difference in the side to side height of the front clip.

Thanks rhopper I'll just order the kit and replace them all so I don't have to worry about it.

I have this EXACT situation, my driver's side fender is 1" lower than the right, with brand new dogbones. I will have to check the front mounts.. Good tip!

I don't know if you need this info but since I have it I thought I would post it:

The red parts have a rubber pads between it and the cab. The purple part is the "dog bone" brace. There is a rubber block that goes between the "bone" and bracket that it bolts to. If you have the original "bone" and it's worn out they make reproduction parts. The new one are different than the originals. They're not stamped metal, they're cast iron:

Some what of a related queston ? Have a 3/4 " space at inside of headlight panel where fender meets but where the radius starts on the outside of headlight panel the fender matches fine . Any of you have a thought on this ?

The affected area shows the fender 3/4" too high . All the other areas gravel pan , lower et. panel & etc. line up . Could the fender in that area be that whacked ? The headlight panel matches up every where else . Unfortunately found this out after after fender received final paint . There is no way headlight panel will raise that far .This has me stumped . All panels fit perfect on pre assembly . Help !!
