never plug mine till its below 0.. and then its only for 2 hours...I have forgotten at 10 below a few times and she still starts good..even with delo 15/40 oil in her....the block heater heats the coolant in the block..the block will stay warm and keep the oil warm...it does the same in the oil cooler as well..when you plug her in you should here it gurgling like a coffee pot after a few seconds..

i plug mine in once it gets below 30 and i live in wisconsin the temps are in the low teens overnight and i keep my truck plugged in all nite from bout 11 till 6 always nice and warm from me in the morning and fires like a champ
