Welcome...PICS ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And just remember, that grille that soooo many people don't like ( I like it) is what made the '54 the least produced 53-56 F-Series, and thus a true '54 (not scabbed together from other years) is the rarest 53-56 Ford truck.

I have been looking for the picture of my first f100. A 1953. I can see the pic so clear in my minds eye. I had hair back then I mean a lot of hair an it was one color an not gray. boy that was a long time ago

Welcome to FTE!! I also have a '54 in progress but the PO had a '56 grille so I don't have the "unique" grille that you have. I am only about 3 hours from you in South Mississippi, but I work offshore Louisiana. Post pictures and let's get these old trucks back on the road. Later, Steve

i think it might have been ciaf that gave this up but try these folks supposedley he has some 54 grilles hanging around.http://www.samsvintagefordparts.com . might make yer day if you can find one of those " ruggedly handsome " grilles there steve b.

Since there are no pics yet, tell us what kind of shape your 54 is in to start with?
Personally, I like the 54 because they are a differnt look (the grill)...but it doesnt matter what year you buy....your checking account number will be attached to the title!!!

the body has very little rust at all. none on the inside of the cab. there is a spot on the driversde door in the lower corner outside. about the size of a pop bottle cap. there is a spot on the front edge of both rear finders were the running board are. the front clip is off. the rear window is broke. all the rest are good. it has a disc brake set up for the front. no motor or trans. but has a new motor mount cross bar set up. a chevy posi in the rear. the tailgate is perfect . the truck came from west Texas.
the man I got it from. restores the stuff from 30s
the 54 wasn't my first choice either. but now. I think it's the coolest. why. no one seems to care for the grill

Go_speed welcome. I know what you mean about the grille. Mine had an old 56 grille in it when I got it. I looked long and hard and found a used Chrome 54 grille. I like the uniqueness of the grille. Kurt G.
