well i am finally getting the volume turned up on my truck this week end. should i leave the cat and run dummy duals or get rid of the cat then duals. How difference in sound is there. I heard if you leave the cat on it wont crackle and pop. It is a 1982 stock motor.

I've been playing with the exhaust system on mine for a few months, off and on, trying to get the right sound, and I left the cat on for emissions test reasons. I still get a small amount of the crackle and pop, but it's muffled by the glasspack. I used a 36" Cherry bomb, and if I had it to do over again, I'd use a shorter glasspack, to make it a little louder. With a shorter muffler, the crackle and pop would be a little louder, though. I hope this helps.

Yeah, leave the cat off after inspection and just go with a good muffler. A friend on mine uses cherry bombs, sounds good. I might go with flowmaster or hooker header makes a turbo muffler.

well i finally got my exhaust done this morning and i got the pipe split after the cat. i only have one on there. then no muffler or anything after that except some big ol tips. It is awsome. It has snap crackle and pop but not too much and is not to quiet or too loud. doesnt sound like a 6 at all more like a 7 cylinder.
