Side Badge

I have been thinking about painting the inside of the side badges to get rid of that ugly red....
Since my truck is black that is the color I thought I'd go with..How hard is it to remove these to paint them....

Boy they are proud of them!...
I was hoping to pain my own..Just was not sure how they came out...
I think with some tape and a good quality rattle can of spray pain I could make them look as good as the them.....
Bet they are plastic so powder coating would be out of the question...

No need for any tape...you can pull the plastic insert off and paint it them put it back on the chrome surround. And, yes, they are just attached with spring clips and pop off easily. The chrome surround is two pieces...the top part the has the F-450 has to come off first then you can pull off the reast of it. After you have it off of the truck the plastic insert is held on to the chrome by a couple more spring clips.

See below... I pulled off both vents took off the plastic insert, installed the billet insert, and had them back on the truck in about 15 minutes...start to finish. So yeah, pretty easy.

4X4 decals just peel off...I asked my dealer to take them off...the fleet sales manager I was working with told me she walked out there while they were doing the precheck stuff and just peeled them off.

Got the billet stuff here http://www.american-truck-auto.com/billet/ford_superduty_20563.shtml

And for the tailgate debadging, that was done the hard way. I took it to the paint shop and had them fill the superduty script and where the Ford badge was and repaint...had them fill the superduty script on the grille as well.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I was thinking of buying: http://www.fordemblem.com/details.php?t=diesel&i=605013, popping off the Harley Powerstroke sticker, and putting that emblem on. You guys think it would add some detail? Also are these emblems plastic?

do you have the 08 Harley Davidson side decals, if you could please take pics and measurements for me, or if you take them off i will buy them off of you, i just need the design or a website that sells the decals

also the emblems from ford are plastic, they have not used metal since the 70s or early 80s and also that site has the chrome badges and the way they came from ford
