300 6 with A/C?

I am looking to find out where the A/C compressor bolts to a 300 6 that has Power Steering. I have a older aftermarket engine kit for a 300 6 to add on air. It has a large compressor mounting bracket consisting of a flat surface with 4 holes, welded on to another slightly curved piece with various holes, also a main crank pulley, and apparently a tensioner pulley, as well as the belt and A/C tag. This never used kit had no instructions or diagrams and was designed to install an aftermarket settup on this engine and the 240. Does anyone have info or better yet an illustration to scan for me as to where the compressor bracket and other items should go on the 300 6?? Lots of looking and head scratching have yielded no results! Any help would be appreciated...

There should be a place under the power steering pump. There will be four bolt holes their. Two are not used and the other two are holding the power steering bracket on.

300 6 with A/C?

Looked at mine, I don't think the front 2 vertical holes would be able to secure the compressor bracket, as far as it looks. I have the original NOS belt for this ac kit and it is long enough to reach almost anywhere on the engine front. Seems to indicate a top mounting position. Anyone have any other ideas?? Everything is helpful in some way..

I have a 1982 F150 4.9L with A/C. I installed the orginal configuration. In order to mount the compressor you need a kit that you can purchace from www.aapak.com. I purchased the kit and a new compressor (Sanden) for $230.00.It bolted right up, even came with belt, pullies, bolts and a drawing!! Give them a call. Art

I will check into it. Seems that a 300 6 with air is a very rare breed. Anyone have any thoughts on if an original underdash type of evaporator will work with a new style/Sanden type system??

On mine the only diference was the hose end that went to the new condencer. The underdash items are the same for any eng size. The evap is in the eng compartment in the heater/AC box If you give me your fax number I will fax you a picture of the complete insid and outside hardware, including the hoses.
