I have a 2004 on 37's and the stock lights suck. With the lows on and adjusted low enough not to blind the person in front, I can't hardly see anything. I've considered the bright box, but that does nothing for the low beams. If I adjust them so they point further out, I cant see anything up close which sucks in foggy conditions.
Is there a lightbulb or some sort of upgrade that will project the low light beam further out. I need another 15 yrds out of my low beams or I'm going to end up hitting a moose.
Sounds like the DFUSER harness and some 9007 Silverstar bulbs should fix it. In searching it sounds like the Xtravision bulbs are the best. How much are these? How much extra are the HID bulbs?
I went through the same problems as you. The solution= upgrade to the 05-07 headlights with some 9008 silverstars! And you can do the britebox mod yourself with a $.10 diode.
I have never had my headlights out before and didn't realize the XL lights were sealed beams. So the bulbs I got are worthless. I got some brighter white sealed headlights from Carquest which are a lot better. Will the dfuser harness work on the XL and will it still offer increased light output with sealed beams?
Where do you get the HID lo and hi kits? I've seen alot of low beam kits on ebay, but it still requires halogen hi's. So anybodys input would be great. thanx
