radius arms
my radius arms on the truck I just bought, the bolts at the end are almost rusted through, is there a way we can grind the weld on the side of it and replace the bolt in it?

I tried to on mine but ended up having to drill them out. I used a grinder and grinded what seem like forever. Heated it with a torch and it still wouldn't budge. If you replace them make sure you take good measurements of the bolts. They are not excatly bolts per say. After the threads there is a small shoulder that the washers hold up against. It's kinda a big job, but can be done. I don't think you get a replacement bolt thats like the one origianly in it.

Have you thought about replacing the radius arms instead of trying to repair the ones you have. Mike's Truck Salvage, one of the sponsors of this site, can ship you a couple of rust free replacements at a decent price. Check out his site, there is a lot of stuff available.
