Shop For Members

Hello Folks,

Happy Friday to those not retired and have the weekend off...Merry Christmas to all.

As I'm at the beginning stages of repairing my truck's bed I've wondered if there are other members like me who would be interested in contributing financial fees\dues in order to have a "clubhouse".

You know...a place we can call second home. A Moose Club but with a huge shop for dialing in, modifying, and\or storing our beloved machines. Plenty of space, hydraulic lifts, pulleys, paint rooms, etc. in back of clubhouse containing all the comforts one could expect from any other clubhouse.

I've got a garage but as of late my neighbor has complained of my sander's noise level. Sort of pissy considering I have never sanded before 10am weekday\12pm weekends and rarely after 5pm on any day. I'm looking forward to what he'll say when I perform metal work in my garage!

Have a great Friday Night all!

Tony

Sidenote: Thinking of painting the graphic in my avatar in the center panel of my bed's front. Hehehe

Heck, if there was money involved, I'd be motivated to clear shop space here

It'd be tough (I think) since we're still spread out fairly well.

Besides, I'd consider myself still having plenty of space available, as long as there is a path from one door to the other

I have space... I lack tools. Ok, I also lack knowledge on how to use the tools. Oh yeah.. I also lack money for buying tools....

Seriously though... I appreciated having a heated shop to work on my truck while I was taking my auto-body class this semester. I also like having the right tools available though.

I don't understand what you are saying. What more do you need beyond a crowbar, torch, sawzall, BF hammer, and a big pair of vice grips?

A friend of mine once told me that, "Every tool is a hammer except for a screwdriver. A screwdriver is a chisel."

Der...uh...der....

What I'm saying is my neighbor is a ***** and I'd like to have a place to work 24/7 if I wanted to. Never said I'm lacking tools or for that matter the proper tools.

Yes, I was poking fun at Karl in a self depricating way.

It's good to be self-defecating.

LOL

Hey Folks...back from the Dickens Fair. Hell Angels were hosting a bike swap at the same grounds which made for an interesting day.

Ol' Dog...I owe you a beer and apology for reading your thread incorrectly.

Cheers Folks,

Tonhy

To answer the OP. Yep, always wanted a Warehouse / Shop with lift etc...
It would be great to have a clubhouse that we could all meet at 24/7.

I'd love to find something in this area. Say in the vineyards that I could buy and set up that way. Just have to figure a way to fund it. If there is a will there IS a way I figure. This is on the top of my short list now. I was even thinking about a hanger at the airport. Maybe we could get 4 guys at $100 a month and have one heck of a hanger / club house. I'm thinking Livermore Airport ... Er maybe Hayward Executive???

Maybe someday. Until then, I'll have to beg borrow and steal space and the tools.

I can do most things at my house. My neighbors are pretty cool. I just have to close the garage door if it gets to late/noisy.

AJ

I wish I'd known you were going to be there. I wondered why there were Hells' Angels at the Fair, didn't think that was quite the type of thing they'd be interested in. I only saw a couple of them though...

I was one of the guys in the sailor suits singing sea songs, in case you're wondering. I'm down there every weekend...

I gotta wonder about Dan running around in a Sailor's suit in the 'City.

Does anyone else have this image of the Village People in their head?

Hey TigerDan

I told my girlfriend there was a chapter member from this group that worked the Dickens fair. Did you see the f150 in the parking lot? Two tone green and white....it's for sale. Looked really nice. My girlfriend and I had a really good time at the festival and are considering going again. Saw two of my friends there who just so happen to be working the festival too. Cool.

I missed the F150...I get there at about 9:00 am and leave around 8:00 pm and don't go outside during that whole time, so I don't see much of what's in the parking lot. If you come back for another day, stop by the Paddy West School of Seamanship and look me up.

Oh, and Mike...? **** off!
