Idm Code P1316 Update

Well, my check engine light came on yesterday coming home and stayed on for longer than ever before.
So, I took today off and dug into the valve covers.
I purchased some of those plastic retaining clips for the electrical connectors passing thru the valve covers just in case.
I pulled the driver's side cover off first. The exterior connector was fine. However, I found the connector under the valve cover was totally missing the clip and the plug was pulling out of its socket. The other thing I noticed is the front three injectors were the same with exception of the serial numbers and the rear injector had been replaced likley by the previous owner under warranty.
I figure the mechanic forgot to insert that tiny plastic retaining clip while closing up the vc - sure glad he was not a doctor.
I will finish the other valve cover check tomorrow.

I do wish to think all of you folks on this forum for a wealth of good info that is posted here.
I read many of the threads for info and possible reference later.
There is nothing like "having been there and done that" and pass that along to help someone experiencing similar problems.

Once again, thanks to all of you!

that rear one is likely the "long lead" injector...
