Low Fuel means GET FUEL NOW Dummy
I'm the guy who always tells everyone else not to let their tank get much lower than 1/4 tank, but I didn't follow my own advise and let it get down too far. When I got ready to leave from work last night my Low Fuel light came on and I decided that I could make it the 16 miles to Marthasville NO problem. I made it 14.... then a problem I let my trusty steed down and it started bucking and then decided it wasn't going any farther! While sitting on the side of the road kicking myself I asked my truck for a favor... Just get us over the hill and I'll fill you up and give you a nice double helping of Diesel Kleen. It was about 22 degrees with a stiff wind and I did NOT want to walk. I guess my truck or the diesel gods took mercy on me because after a few sputter filled seconds of cranking it fired back up and snorting and bucking got itself up and over the last hill and down into the fuel station. I honored my pledge and all appears to be well.

this is where the in tank kit comes in handy and why it stalled.... going up hill the fuel is in the back of the tank..with only 5 gal.left..it doesn't leave much in the middle of the tank..with the already poor stock line it just quit for a second because it was feeding off of air.. when I did my in tank kit I measured for the screen at the sensor and at the tank'' I see the screen was 1/2" off the bottom..I lowered it so its 1/4 off the bottom now..

I run mine down almost every time at least until the light comes on. I religiously run DK and want to have near the same ratios every time I fill up. When I do, I usually can put 24 gallons in to fill it up. I have not had any issues with it spitting and sputtering. I have gone at least 20 miles past the light coming on without refueling and so far not a hiccup (man did I just jinx myself big time)

I don't know if it had anything to do with how cold it was (and had been all day). More than likely it's because I live in central Missouri and some of the hills between work and home would definately pin any remaining fuel to the back of the tank. In any case; I got my one free pass and won't temp the powers that be again.
