GO AWAY!! ALL OF YOU!!! Sheesh! :D

OK..Time to replace the alternator...I called 6...yes that is 6...Auto parts stores....and I finally found 1..ONLY 1!! Gawd!!! OK Nobody in my part of Colorado is allowed to drive an F350 or 250....MY PARTS!! ALL OF EM I TELL YA!!! ALL OF THEM!!!!

Sorry....just lost it a little....Waiting for the guy to call me back...the part is being transferred to his store from another one 150 miles away...I called just in time to get it on the truck before it left. So now I wait until it gets there. I figure the Duralast Gold should do me good. It had better..or I am waiting until next week.

SHEESH!!

That either means everyone's buying them like crazy, or no one stocks them because they don't sell...

Based on my experience, it's gotta be the second choice

Well that's something to keep in mind in case my alternator decides to crap out again. Parker isn't too far from Elizabeth.

HAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH The Napa in Elizabeth didn't have one......Parker..Nope...But I did find the duralast cause the manager at the Parker Autozone called me (I go there if Napa doesn't have what I want...he knows me too well for my kids 70' F250), and asked if I still wanted one (I had called to see what he had in stock)...he found it at the "hub store" and had them on hold waiting for my answer.....so it's on it's way here....There were a couple of the cheaper reman's but I didn't want to chance it. I have heard too many horror stories with the cheaper ones...the Duralast gold's I have heard just good stuff about.

I had a duralast gold on my truck when I bought it with 100K, and it took a dump at 130K. Granted I don't know exactly how many miles are on it, but 2nd alternator taking a digger at that point I really question the quality of durlast gold over the standard lifetime warranty Autozone special. It is easy to change, I would really question spending that extra money. Just my $.02

Spend the extra? The Gold was more than their standard and comes with a lifetime warranty. What did you wind up getting?

BillyBob, after those comments about coming to find my brush guard, I called all the auto stores near you and told them the next time YOU called or came in, to tell you the part was unavailable.

It was worth the $20 I'll have to cough up now to see you squirm....

Dear Santa,

BillyBob69 has been a bad boy. Please do not bring him a new alternator for Christmas, or new tires, bumpers, lift kit, winch, wheels, exhaust systems or step tubes and do not regear his differentials.

Signed,
The cool gang that hang out on FTE

I the autozone el chaepo with the lifetime warranty... I figured I could use the money I saved by not getting the gold to buy a case of beer for the next time I have to change this thing out on its lifetime time warranty.

I think it was $169 out the door without trading in the core yet?

Ahhhh OK......The gold is now 189 without core. But it is a 30 minute drive to the parts store...So I just changed it in the parking lot. 5 min out....5 min in. Well see how long this Gold lasts...Although...I can already tell a difference in the way the truck runs...when does the idiot light come on? Dash and headlights are brighter....and the truck seems to run a little smoother. I figure with the bad alt. The voltage drop was enough to affect the puter so even the engine wasn't running right.
