SCA Levels

I tested my antifreeze this morning, and found that Im right in the green according to the fleet guard test strips. However it says to add a maintenance dose.

What amount of DCA4 should I add. I cant find a guideline on the bottle or the test strip.

Thanks.

A one pint bottle of DCA4 is equal to 5 units. Depending on where you were at in the green most people like to stay in the 2.0 to 2.5 range, 3.0 is the max you should be at. The amount of charge you need to add depends on the capacity of your cooling system, my 2001 F350 holds approx 8.2 gallons total.

Lets say for example you were at 1.0 on your scale and you wanted to be at 3.0, you would need to add 2.0 units per gallon to get to 3.0 total. I'm not really sure what a maintance dose is but maybe someone else on here may have a better idea what that is.

I was at 1.7 on the scale. It says in the green, but it sounds like I need to add 4 units to the truck to make it on the higher side of the normal
