Bouncing on the freeway

Does anyone else have a problem, when driving on the freeway, with bouncing? It feels like you are driving over small bumps (woopty doo's.... sp) in the road. The kids think its fun but my head starts to ache after a while. I hope I explained it well enough. Is there anyway of preventing it?

Thank you.

I posted in the wrong forum. How to I move it to this forum? 2003 - 2007 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel
Sorry!

What speed does it start at? Could it be the road surface (The right lane of I-40 and I-30 in Arkansas was REALLY bad a few years ago)? Tires need balancing? Need new shocks?

More than likely the concrete expansion joints on the freeway. I'm guessing it doesn't do it on asphalt though right? Do a search in this forum for "concrete". You'll see plenty of posts about it.

You might try lowering your tire pressure a little, but be careful. If I take out too much pressure (15 pounds) I can induce the dreaded death wobble.

It starts when I get up to speed (55+) on the freeway. It only happens in some areas. I am thinking it's road surface. My '95 F250 did the same thing. I actually replaced the front shocks but it didn't do anything. I was just wondering if anyone else had experience it and came up with a solution. My tires are at 60psi, I was thinking about trying different tire pressures but I don't have a lot of time to do that right now. Thank you for the reply.

Yes it is on concrete. I'll do a search. Thanks for the info.

I have the same issue, but it only seems to happen on concrete when hitting the seams. Gawd I know the headache part tho...I went through ALOT of that when hauling a horse trailer to Minnesota and back from Colorado non-stop. I felt bad for the horse in the trailer on the way home...he must of thought we had a flat. But it was all smooth when on asphalt.
