My buddy's 2000 PSD started stalling all the time. He took it to the Ford dealership where they replace the crank position sensor free of charge. You might want to look in to that. Or check the glow plugs.

Unless you have bad fuel, then I would suspect the CPS (Camshaft Position Sensor). The 7.3L PSD engines are famous for this issue. The good news...is the CPS has been redesigned and is better than the old ones it replaces.
i already replaced it with a g.p sorenson from napa and it still does it. my truck only does it when it cold outside. ive tried running kerosene, fuel additives. the bad part is the check engine light does not come on so a computer is helpless.
