See, Jake, you are good for something.....LMAO!! Just kiddin' bud! Hey, it'll be good having both of you guys around. I've done tons of work on cars and engines, but those engines had carburetors, and ignitition points.........You know, like when the dinosaurs were walking around...LOL!
ya, it's good that u people that kno how to handle that stuff are around for me, i was looking for a return line from the carb to the tank the other day on my 81...apparently that's about as common as spark plugs on a diesel, or even flux capacitors lol, but important thing is lesson learned i guess
but those engines had carburetors, and ignitition points.........You know, like when the dinosaurs were walking around...LOL!
Now listen Pat.....the ol '69 still uses that crap...
Oh, Kenny, I'm sorry you had to run into Wade.....hopefully that didn't hurt. Anyway, she's back and better than ever (well something like that).......
Yeah, I know Jake! But, most guys are trying to throw on fuel injection, which I know zero about, and that usually takes a computer to run, which, again, zero! Now, I'd be up for the electronic ignition...Points are a pain! I'm really gonna have to see this truck sometime! Maybe it will motivate me to get going on my '67!
Well.....if you're motivated by a rusty POS that's three colors and not worth the money I've been putting into it......more power to ya. Fuel injection would be nice for those cold starts.....I need to adjust the choke better. I may have been better off going with an auto choke.......oh well.
Hey, call your truck what you want, but at least it runs!! MY POS has been sitting since 1999, just waiting for me to fix it! Mainly, though, I just love that period (67-72) of the Fords. Besides maybe the '56's, these were some of Ford's best looking trucks!
Well what do you think Ol' Blue was doing before I got ahold of her? She was sittin' in the barn prayin' it didn't fall in on her!!!! 67-72's are pretty much my favorite, then I'd have to go with 73-79's. 97-03's are next, but they just don't have enough power........oh well.
Hey, while I'm thinking about it. If you or any of your buddies out there happen to run across a set of engine mount towers for a 390, the ones for a four wheel drive '67, let me know! I'm glad you were able to bring blue back to life. That's what it's all about Bud!
Alright. There's a pretty good junkyard up near Spalding that I've been to a few times. I'm not planning to go up there for awhile, but if I think of it I'll check into it. Do you know if one's from a 73-79 will work? Now that I think of it I don't remember seeing all that many 67-72's that were 4wd......
