Another new guy.

Hi guys,

I'm new to the Nebraska Chapter and wanted to introduce myself. I own a 2005 Ford F250 Ex Cab Long Box 6.0L and love it! These forums are great and have given me lots of info!

Man, you guys are gonna scare the new guys off! :-D

Hey fordmustangfan67 - welcome to the chapter!

fordmustangfan67 12-10-2007 07:46 PM

Thanks for the welcome guys. I grew up in the county south of Fremont and now live in Elkhorn. No offense to any city guys but I miss living in the country and will move back to an acreage as soon as my wife (newly wed) and I save up some money. I am an electrician and my wife is a veterinary technician, both in Omaha. I will work on posting some pics of my truck as soon as I get the front end fixed. I hit a deer by the Platte River near valley. Not exactly the way I wanted to get a deer.

Question for the diesel guys... My 05 6.0L seems to be smoking a lot more than I remember it from last winter on these cold mornings that we have been having. Do your truck shoot out a lot of white smoke until it gets warm or is it just for a few seconds?

Thanks guys!

p.s. I also have a 1959 Ford Galaxie 500 Hardtop Retractable project car as well as the 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe for cars and a 1967 Yamaha YR1 motorcycle and 2005 Yamaha Wolverine 4 wheeler (no I'm not rich, I just like toys and work hard for what I have!).

My 6.0 smokes a little on these cold mornings, so I don't think it's a problem. I'd love to see that Galaxie and your mustang! Did you hit the deer out by Ginger cove? I know there are always a ton of those stupid things out there!

fordmustangfan67 12-10-2007 09:11 PM

Yes it was right by ginger cove.

hey everybody, looked like a good place to introduce myself so here goes!

Name: Kenny

Locality: Columbus area...Hastings temporarily

Trucks: '99 f-150 regular cab, 4.2L V6, 5spd, 4x2 "SnowMan"
'81 f-150 regular cab, 300 straight 6, 4spd, 4x4 "SixShooter"

ya the 99 is nothin special that i just use for a daily driver, but i'm gonna build up on that 81 of mine, i plan on beefing up the 300, 4" lift and 35" tires, flat bed paint and eventually 3/4 ton axles, God willing...and o yes, hi Jake lol!

67nukeford 12-11-2007 08:02 AM

Hey Kenny,

Welcome to the chapter! If you get a chance, you'll have to post some pics in your gallery of your trucks.

jseim44 12-12-2007 05:43 PM

I'll damned......That must be Kenny Korth up there (snowman) I just saw this......anyway....for you diesel boys - white smoke is normal on cold starts due to low cylinder temps......at least that's what the book says. Maybe Kenny knows more, he's a second year diesel tech out here at CCC with me......

-Jake

The_SnowMan710 12-12-2007 07:22 PM

yes sir mr. jake, it is i...and as far as the white smoke, u r right, the cold will do that, completely normal unless it continues to smoke when the engine is warm, then you're either burning coolant or your timing is too far advanced if my memory serves me correctly

jseim44 12-12-2007 07:23 PM

Sounds about right. Oh the CCC education.........

-Jake
