Car Starters

I was thinking of gettin ma a remote starter for xmas. I'm leaning towards the ProStart with the LCD key fob
http://www.autostart.ca/prostart/prod-en_CT-3400TW.php

Just curious if anyone has this set up, and if they have anything to say about it, good or bad, or if you'd suggest a different one.

My wife wants one putin the Escort. She doesnot like going out and starting the car and sitting there freezing for 20minutes at her work.If she doesn't the car may go for a ride.
We have a remote starter kit here but I have no idea how to install it. Anyone here would like to install it for me. My wife would pay you for it I'm sure of or she can barter some Ceramic stuff you may like.
The electric stuff like that kinda scares me.

Our Escort previously had a remote starter in the car. Problem is the previous owner lost the key fob and the dealership cannot get a replacement.
Now we have a remote starter that was given to my wife as a gift from her students. Never installed. I was wondering if a person could just remove the unit from under dash and put this one in without doing major rewiring. It would make things quite easy then for us.

Yeah this year we sure got our cold snaps early. Some years at this time we still don't have snow on the ground. My brother in law makes ice castles every winter for christmas. I remember some years the ice would not set til mid December. He already has it half built this year. And this yearit will have Cannons on it that I made for him.

Hey Glenn is your command start just a command start or does it have keyless entry? Since it had a remote start previously it should be a simple affair. I should be able to do it this week, I just need to find out which day I have off. You can keep your money and use it for christmas presents. I'll just take a coupon for some free used truck parts.

I can go for that there Nathan. This just a command start. The other system has a keyless entry and trunk release. They lost the one key fob that does the remote start. Would you like to see system first in the car and the system to go in the car?

Too bad the remote unit is not available, is it the factory Ford unit?
Have you tried E-Bay?

Since it's just a remote start it will be a simple affair. So the original command start had two remotes? If so I'd assume you would like to keep the keyless entry too?

Yeah she would. She likes useing the auto door button and trunk and the horn alarm which dam near gives me a heartattach every time she has it on. I hate going to open the car and then have the horn blaring. But she likes all those features and is cpmplaining about not having the remote start now that it is cold. I know she is spoiled.
