I have '08 F250 4x4 with 20 inch factory rims. I would like to upgrade the tires to a more aggressive tread. Does anyone have recommendations on brands that work great for off road (usually hunting in rough back country) and does ok on pavement. I do not want to buy new rims.

Tires for 20" wheels are really expensive.
I don't know a lot of tires that'd are avalible in 20" wheel sizes that I'd recommend, but I know Toyo Open Country M/Ts come in 20" wheel sizes, and they are some pretty good tires for all around use.
Other than that, IF it were me, I would find a set of used 16 or 17" factory rims and buy a set of tires for them(probably cheaper).
Try pro comp xterrains. They are a pretty good tire offroad with an aggressive directional pattern and they have a tire for a 20 inch rim. They look pretty sweet too
Every set of BFG tires I have owned has performed fairly well off road (mostly rocks, some mud) and gets excellent mileage. The current set of BFG MTs on my jeep has about 60K mi and are still going strong.
The new BFG KM2s mud terrains are pretty cool looking, and do well in the mud...
I have swamper SSRs and like how they ride on the road, and do great offroad...
I would deffinitly find some other wheels. I just put Buckshots on mine and i love em. Cheaper than BFG's or anything else and seem to go most anywhere I point em.
