Rough Idle Question
I have a 95 Ranger, 2wd, 2.3L. The truck runs pretty good. A couple weeks ago, I did an oil change and noticed the valve cover was leaking, so I went to Napa and purchased a new one. When installing the new one, I removed the hose from the top of the valve cover going to the top of the intake and noticed that the hose was in bad shape, so I replaced it with a slightly smaller hose. Also loosened the EGR valve and removed throttle linkage to get the cover out. Bla bla bla...Put it all back together and noticed it takes longer than usaul to idle down, and sometimes it will drop to 600 RPM. This doesn't happen all the time, I set the idle for 750-800 RPM, just wondering what might be causing this... could it be the smaller hose or perhaps the EGR. Either way it's an easy fix but just wanted some imput. By the way, plugs and wires are new, all eight of them!
