2005 Headlights

2005 Headlights
I have a 2005 F150. When I press the unlock button the headlights always turn on. How do I disable the headlights? I tried following the instructions in the owners manual but it doesn't work for me. Is there an unwritten step in the procedure? Thanks

Nothing unwritten. I've found following some of Ford's procedures to de-activate certain things is a hassle. It often takes a couple attempts before you get it.
Follow it word for word and you'll get it to work or you should.

Thanks ohboy44 ans svt2205..... it was my fault. I didn't follow the instructions to the letter. I was suppose to use the door lock button and NOT the remote button to toggle the deactivation/activation switch. Thanks again.
