Inverter Install

I'm thinking of putting a inverter on my truck for those times when I may wish to use it........anyone done it before, suggestions........which battery do you hook it up to......the drivers side or the passenger side........will the alternator keep up on the battery charge.......will it drain the battery.......etc, etc, etc..............ok guys give me your experiences..........I'm thinking of hooking up a rv AC unit to my camper shell so my dogs will have ac when we travel.......we do a lot of trips across the desert in the summer.

You will have to install a pretty big one to keep up with the A/C. As long as it is running it will keep up. Mount it where it gets cool air. Doesn't matter which battery. It will definately drain the battery especially the size one you will need just keep the truck running when the A/C is on.
