Yes you can run the engine with the VC's off. If you have only let it idle I would try to drive it and get it good and warm before you send it to the Stealer. It may just be that the GP's haven't been able to get it warm enough to run smooth.

DO NOT TAKE IT TO THE sTEALER AT ALL. We can fix it here. and Welcome to FTE.

Thanks Neil, good one, I'm trying to avoid the stealer as much as possible. At the risk of sounding very novice, I get what GP is but what is the VC. Also, I picked up a fuel filter and will change it this afternoon as well.

Oop's wait... got it VC is Valve Covers.

Cheers

Unhappy Bad news

Hi again everyone, I've changed the fuel filter and there is no change. Still the same rough idle and absolutely no power, even the revs take a while to get up. It really sounds congessted and clogged up. When I put it in gear, the revs drop significantly and it seems like a put-put. Can get it up a ramp either, absolutely floored. Its been idling for over 24 hours non stop??

Well guys my truck was showing an error code.. I forgot if it was a 4470 or 0470, something close to that. I replace EBP sensor and seems to be back to it's normal self. I really appreciate all the help and suggestions. I changed the oil, replaced serp. belt, replaced block heater; I now hope I am good for another 5 thousand or so miles!
