I'm looking at purchasing an 04 HD F250 that was a theft recovery. The vehicle has a new (non salvage title), and with the exception of missing seats and a few bumps seems to be in pretty good shape. I checked the engine oil and transmission oil. Levels were good, engine oil was dark but didn't seem any different than my F350. Transmission oil level was good and oil was nice and pink no evidence of burnt oil. No evidence of any excessive leaking or significant undercarraige damage.
My questions is: Can I do a VIN check with Ford to see if the truck is still under warranty? It only has 63000 miles and I think I can get it for a really good price. Can one of you generous Ford techs here check for me?
Just want to make sure if something goes wrong with the drive train it will be covered.
The truck is still covered by the warranty as long as it is within the 5 years or 100k mile warranty. I bought my truck a 05 under the exact same conditions and have had it in for warranty work with no problems.
