does anyone know if you can fit 33x10.5 super swamper boggers on an unlifted 93 bronco? I already ordered the tires, I am just wondering if I also need to order a small lift, Thanks
you will probably be fine, at most you might have to shim out the front bumper some. plan on using 4low alot running those tires. they will suck the power big time on stock gearing
I run 33x12.50 on 15x8.5 and have no problem other than a tight turn rub on the arm
and since it is pretty smooth it doesn't hurt to turn it that far if you have to every
now and then on the trail!! Mine is pretty shiny right there and the tires show no wear
from it but I don't keep it pegged to the stop either just a bit, hear it rub, back off and
keep right on going. You could put a longer bolt in the steering stop or weld a piece
onto it if yours are rusted in permanent like mine, to prevent the tire rubbing at all!!
A set of fender flares and a trim on the fender well will stop any rub if you happen to
have any when the suspension is bottomed out. Do Not do a body lift they look stupid
and cause more problems than they are worth. bronco graveyard has 2" longer springs
adjustable camber deals for the front and add a leafs for the rear (2-3") If your stock
springs are sagged out from towing or if they are the light duty. I have 3.73 gearing
and have no problem with take off power and can do most everything in 4 HI except
maybe extractions and just about quick sand type of conditions where half of your
tire is covered by wet sand. Now my motor is real strong but it is stock mostly but
it is taken care of so if yours is low compression and not taken care of you may have
a different experience.
he is going to be running 10.50 wide tires so contact to those items would be minimal. being a practicly a tractor tire grabbing at everything is why they will be a drain on power. my bro-inlaw has a 33" 10.50 set of boggers running with a chevy 350 and its very noticable
the power thing is going to be a problem, the truck is actually my grandfather's. he is one of those type that thinks he needs the most aggressive tire they make, he says the 32" buckshots that were on it were not enough. I dont think he needs anything more than the 31" at's that are on my '88. But his has a 351 with about 150K miles of mostly pulling a boat. In a drag race my bronco with a stock 175K 302 would run off and leave it. it is pretty turdly.
The thing is... if you can't spin those Boggers they'll cake up... and then all that tread is useless. Low gears are good for crawling, but in mud you gotta have a little wheel spin to keep your tread cleaned out. I run 38's and a an inline six... so I went with the TSL-SX's instead of the boggers... and I cross cut the center lugs about half way down with a router to make the tire flex easier and clean out better. It works... haven't had em cake up yet.
