that bad, or different types of gas will trigger my engine light? Every time it gets worse i'm gonna pull this or replace that, then i go and fill up, then the light stays off!! anyone else?

My daughter has an 96 Escort that did what you are discribing. You could check by filling up your gas tank, then when you get home disconnect your battery for at least 10 min. After you plug your battery in the light will go off and stay off until you open your gas cap again (i.e. fill up) The problem is in the purge canister or the solenoid (or sensor) that controls it. The computer thinks there is something wrong. Good luck.
