Hesitation on acceleration

Hesitation on acceleration
My 88 4.9 when taking off from a traffic signal hesitates alot until I get up to about 15 mph or so. It does this even more so when the engine is cold.
Any suggestions on what to check?

Hesitation on acceleration
The TPS is the EFI equivilant of the accelerater pump. You can check it with a multimeter. All it is, is a Pot. The center lead is the wiper. Some of the other posts here tell you what voltage to look for. Personaly I just look at the resistance, about 3.5K across the end posts and smooth variable resistance between the ends and the center post. Herman
