Poor, poor wittelw baby. My sink will have 3 inches of ice in october if I forget to drain it at night.
Not my fault you chose to live in NORTH DAKOTA!! As one of my favorite comedians says, and don't quote me on this:
People ask me why I live in California... 'Why do you live in California?! I like seasons! I wanna live somewhere with seasons! I like seasons!' Yeah I like seasons too, thats why I live in a place that skips the shi**y ones.
Well, i had it plugged in last night, it wasnt super cold, but it was below freezing. My truck has always started good in the winter, but it did warm up a lot quicker this morning.

Being as I live just east of you in northern Mn, I will tell you what works for me. If it is going to be -20 to -35F over night I plug in when I shut off and leave plugged in overnight. If less than about -20F overnight I use a timer that comes on 2hrs before start time. Any more is a waste of electricity $$$$. This is with the factory installed frost plug heaters.
That makes sense, I just wanted to try it out, although, luckily for me at my apartment I dont pay for the elecricity where I plug in, but for an overall energy conservation view, a timer would be ideal.
Oh, well I spent my time down in Georgia, both at Benning and Gordon. Our MPs are getting ready to take off in january, they are trying to get me to go with them.
Yeah, if I go in January this would be my second tour. Our unit has orders for Kosovo in 2009, I figure if I go with the MPs I will be back in time to go to Kosovo.
I lived in Buffalo, and never once used a block heater. The coldest it ever got was a few degrees below zero, and my truck started fine. So I don't think you need one in Georgia, or anywhere in CA for that matter either, unless you commute from the top of Mt. Whitney.
I like that joke, Chris. I'm gonna steal that one.
