Im looking for some help for my father's trucks. He has a '95 F150 XLT with the 5.0 and a ?90 F250 plow truck with a 5.8 (I think). The alt. on the '90 died, and he's wondering if he can swap the alternators within those years/engines. Any thoughts? The parts stores are all closed and its snowing pretty good, so any help would be really appreciated! Thanks!
The alternator will probably work just fine but you may need to do a little bracket fudging.
While back I under a time pinch same as you I put the alt from a bronco 2- 2.9 on my f250 5.8, needed to make a bracket up real quick for it thought so the bolts lined up right.
Ok, so electrically they should be the same, same regulator style, etc. But they might not share bracketry, how about pulley width? Thanks for the help so far!

Yea a quick close look at both of em should tell ya if ya have a chance or not.
If one is a v belt and one is the serpentine belt than probably not worth the trouble.
Mine died on the weekend in the middle of a snow storm of course so I needed one fast to finish my lots, the only parts store open here on sunday didn't have the one I needed.
Both the trucks in my sig used a serpentine belt (similar pulleys, if not, the same), but the brackets were totally different (plus the '93 has a 3G alternator--cooling fan housed inside the alternator).
