Question Manifold

I have an edge chip installed in my truck.04 6.0 My question is,The manifold is tapped for the egt gauge and i need to take the edge off to bring the truck to the dealer.What do i use to fill the hole that the wire bolted to the manifold was in? Thanks

It's either 1/8" or 1/4" pipe thread. Take your EGR probe to a store with plumbing fittings and match it up. Remember--pipe thread is tapered not straight. You don't even have to use sealer on it in that application as it will self tighten/seal. I assume you're going to reinstall your probe when you get your truck back anyway? You might even want to put a dab of neverseize on it.

you should be fine. just say you had gauges but you're upgarding and until the new ones come in you had to plug it.

a guage will not void your warranty....

however when they look in your computer and we see the memory had been tampered with then that could cause a problem. it all depends on the tech and what he puts as the story.

Are you going in for a blown head? Or any other major engine issue? If not then take a deep breath, relax, and head into the dealer. They are not going to look into your ECU, they are not going to try to void you warranty if you are going in for an oil change. If you blew up your motor, then I would say you would wanna seal that hole off for good haha.

Its smoking real bad,and missing.Today when i started it up it was leaking oil pretty good from the exhaust manifold.I can't believe this,all this trouble at once.
