Used flaring tool, tube cutter, tube bender and purchased desired lengths of brake line at local auto supplier. If should decide on 'do it yourselfer' here are couple' how to' websites. Before flaring I installed a fabric type tubing along area's where the line may come in contact w/ frame. Also found using a spring on the tubing handy for getting the tight bends just needed to remind self to remove spring before flaring ends.
Dave, good warning about removing the spring before flaring the tube. I purchased a 25' length of coiled brake line and bent my own lines by using the originals as a pattern. The local Autozone or Advanced Auto will loan the tube bender, double flare tool, and the one-man brake bleeding kit.
Now here is my warning if you decide to bend and flare you own brake lines. Don't forget to slide the compression nut on the line before you flare the end. I did this one time. Another thing, make sure you slide the nut on so it's facing the right direction. I accidentally slide one on with the threads facing away from the flared end. Stupid mistakes and very embarassing. I'm glad no one was around to see what I did.
