Help with 4x4 ESOF
Just got an 04 250. Love it! It has ESOF. I've had trucks in the past and I understand how the whole locking hubs thing works. However, I do not have much experience with ESOF I'm confused by how ford does it. LOCK vs. AUTO What is the difference? What situations shoulds I use Lock or Auto in? What happens when i put it into Lock? What happens when i switch from 2h to 4h when the hubs are in auto (on the fly and sitting still) I've read some discussions here and it seems Ford has ***** the bed with these ESOF's. Help me please

make sure to use the 4x4 atleast once every other week or atleast once a month to keep it alive and working. And auto means when you are driving the hubs will lock on their own but lets say you get the front tires stuck and need to get into 4hi the hubs will not lock unless they are moving but if you get down and switch it to Lock it will lock the front hubs and will help alot, you got lucky my 97 has Auto all the time and i can not lock them
