I went to the skyline deal near me and ask if they could get me a manual on my trailer and the lady behind the counter was as useless as Breast on a Ant....LOL I need help in getting one and I wont return there again
The bad news is that Skyline probably couldn't give any information on a 2002 let alone a 1982...
Greywolf did you mention how much rubber costs and how much sglaine would have wrapped up just in material? I'm all for fixing one up but that's alot of scratch for a 26 year old trailer.
No doubt it's an aluminum roof, whether it's hollow or solid is another thing, solid would be easier but you still have to re-deck the whole thing with luan, if it's hollow you'd have to deck it with atleast osb if not plywood. Then you have to figure all of the moldings being replaced, and if you wanted gutter moldings double that cost, then the awning rail gutter molding which is even more expensive yet. fasteners, sealers, butyl. Ofcourse you have to have a place inside to store it while doing this project too.

Just so happens I called Skyline this morning and found them to be very helpful. He stated the trailer I have is a good one and worth rebuilding..He has a manual for that trailer and is shipping it today..
Digging for info is sometimes simpler than we think it will be. Going the direct route often gains support if it is a restore project, and the customer is not after the company to cough up anything.
An RV is a gamble on any manufacturers part - and real interest is bound to be rewarded at times.
I talked to the rep for an hour and he said lot of people are restoring there old trailers.. I would buy a new one from them if I could afford it. I was impressed
