What kind of noise?...clunk or grinding?

If grinding when just going straight...could be a wheel bearing...but I 'think' the bearing is an integral part of the hub assembly.

If a clunk in turns...could be a ball joint as they are 'prone' to failure on SD front ends...Ford doesn't give you a grease fitting for them!

Also could be your shocks? When were they replaced?...front shocks are VERY easy to replace yourself...for that matter all 4 are VERY simple...

Have you climbed under there to see if you can inspect if something is rubbing? Perhaps it is simply the bushings on the front sway bar are worn?

The tie rod ends have a grease fitting...perhaps a little grease is needed there too...

That's all I can think of...I know others will be here soon with more suggestions.

WELCOME to FTE!

Good luck,
joe.

There was a post a while back and if i remember correctly it was the exhaust system rubbing and it just sounded like it was coming from the front. At least that's what I remember. Hope this helps.

hey thanks X hemi. The shocks are new. and the noise is only when the front is working stopping, starting, and turning. And i have also felt a kinda popping on the passenger side floor board when the noise is at its worst. and noise may only be coming from the passenger side. thanks again
