Question

Spring Shackles

Hello again Fordsters

Quick question, Im replacing my old bushing in my spring shackles. there's an metal shell inside my shackles that I have to take out for my new bushings to fit in. HOW does someone get those out of there. Do I take it to a press shop? Someone have any tricks?

I had to have someone press them out for me. They were rusted in pretty bad.

You can take a hacksaw and just split the bushing then it will come out fairly easy. An air chisel helps also.

sweet. thanks guys. Im going to try the hacksaw and my air chisel tomorrow morning. If it still doesn't work, will have someone press it out for me.

I brought mine to the local spring shop,they removed the old bushings,and pressed in new ones,painless.
