Well I broke down and tried the new Superchips Cortex Tuner, I was really interested due to the 2 year powertrain warranty. I programmed my truck right away and couldn't possibly be anymore disappointed! No wonder they offer a powertrain warranty! there's no power! My boost is less than stock! this thing is touted to add 105hp! Where is it? I contacted Superchips and they just blew me off! I do understand that to have a safe tuner it must have safeguards built into the programming, but if you are going to tell people your getting 105hp shouldn't it feel like it? Over promise and underdeliver doesn't seem like a good marketing strategy to me? Maybe the power is at a higher RPM? It didn't even get rid of the turbo-lag! $500.00 paperweight and it's not even stout enough to do that! Luckily I bought from a FTE Sponsor Motorhaven so I hope they'll take it back without soaking me for the 15% re-stocking fee, but if they do it's still better than eBay! Thanks for letting me vent! If anybody else has used the Cortex and had a positive experience please let me know! Maybe it's just me!
Since the MSD buyout, Superchips doesn't impress me one bit. I have found theyre products to be the bottom of the quality chain. I have sold a few through our business and 75% have came back with problems.

So it's not just me! I didn't know if I was expecting too much? I put a Diablosport Predator on just for fun and whoa! off I went! and off it went!
I could feel the power and that was at the 60hp tune! I pulled it off right away so that's why the warranty really caught my attention and I have had Superchip products in the past that were pretty good! I knew nothing of the buyout! but lesson learned and I wanted to make sure other FTE users knew of my experience..I'm looking for Matt's number! I should have known better!
Thanks PSD6litre40..appreciate the response!
I had a superchips flashpaq and had great results with it. Lots of power and no problems. The main reason I switched to to the SCT was for the custom tuning and to have egr turned off in all the files. They must have done something to their files in order to offer the warranty.
its just a flashpaq with flashpaq tunes. you paid extra for a warranty.....
That's a real possibility also, but I've heard good things about the flashpaq! and if I was paying an extra $100.00 for a 2 year warranty on a good programmer I'd be ok with that. Warranties cost but the piece of mind would be worth a $100.00 to me, it's just the performance aspect of this that disappoints me. Bottom line is if I really added a 100hp to my truck shouldn't it feel like it?

Yes.If you added 50hp..you would.Sending it back sounds like the best option...IMO.
Like I said the 60hp Diablosport took off like a shot, but I know that tuner is hard on our trucks. I guess I'm going to have to bite the 15% restocking fee bullet and chock it up to "lesson learned"!
Hey Matt can you put your files into a flashpak and upload that way and replace my four tunes from superchips ?
Sadly not...the SCT files are full flashes; the Superchips files are "Strategy flash"; meaning they only insert a set of values into the preexisting flash. Two totally different methods of flashing.

Full Flash Party!
Matt,
When I contact you what info do I need to have handy? PCM code and wish list??

If you have your PCM code; thats great; I can preload the tuner for you. If not, we can send the box empty and then you can load the tunes. So yes; that and your wish list
