360=390

I have been told that a 360 and a 390 are almost the same motor what r the differences

Crank, rods for the most part. Pistons may work too. But in most cases your rebuilding the low end with new bearings and rods for the new parts.

i have heard a 390 is just a 360 with a longer stroke. its strokariffic!

360 to 390 = Crankshaft, rods and pistons. Everything else is same-o same-o.

Also, not on the spec side but a difference none the less: the 390 has 40 more H.P. and I believe 60 more lb/ft. torque(forgot how much tq the 360 has) but pretty sure somewhere around there.

that sounds true about the horsepower and torque differences. but not when it comes to onemanarmys truck, haha, its the bigger brother but fat and lazy, betsy is the eye of the tiger

360 ver 390

i have both a 68 and a 69 highboys 4x4 with a big block FE 390 with 391 industreal heads on both , everything is the same pistons are the same JUST the rods and crank are longer on the 390. i have rebuilt to many to count. have fun
