has anyone used these ? i have a dick cepek 35x12.50x17 tire that will not balance. tire has only 5,000 miles tire rolls fine no shifted belts but it will not balance tried sand and all but thinking about these balancers any info appreciated
Just tried a set and they didn't work. Have you tried indexing the tire on the rim to get a better balance? I still have a balance problem but that helped. The guy doing the balancing said if the machine showed the wheel needed 3 oz. or more on the first spin he broke the tire down and rotated it one way or the other until on the next spin it needed less than 3 oz.
I have a set but do not have them on yet, I'm in the middle of servicing all four hubs. From what I read about them, it is best to have the tire in balance before hand. As suggested above, if your tire will not balance try breaking it down and rotating it 180* from where it's at on the rim now. I think the main point of the Centramatic balancer is to help balance the rotating mass of the hubs and brakes, and correcting for some tire imbalance like having a weight come off or mud or snow packed in the tread.
i ran those balancers for millions of miles on my big trucks,,they work grate but you always strt off with a balanced tire for the best results.the balancer keeps them in balance for the life of the tire. they do make a clicking when going very slow.
