After reading many posts about the carb placement on the DP manifold I think I may have mine wrong. I have the linkage side of my Holly 390 4 barrel facing the valve cover. Is this right? I have noticed the idle screws do have to be adjusted differently for each side but other than that it seems to run alright. Don't tell me it can get better. Also I'm going to change to Eldelbrocks emission legal carb for two reasons one is I am in Mesa AZ and emmisions are required (need a place to hook all the junk up to look good) and the other reason is the fuel we have to burn here screws the rubber up in Hollys (as they have admited) and I'm tired of changing carbs rvery six months. The smallest Eldelbrock (street legal) is a 600 cfm is this going to be a problem?

When I did my setup (clifford and a 390 holly). I placed my carb so that the two primaries are up front (closest to the valve couver). This way, the front of the engine will get the same amount of gas as the back. This link has a diagram, and more info.

Hrm, i'd put primaries away from the VC as the longer intake path may possibly help out your lowend. Thats the way I currently have my Edelbrock 500cfm Vacuum secondary carb. Sure it has a mech choke, but you can get the $25 kit to convert to electrical ;o
