Alright, so last night I was braking to a stop and the truck stalled. No lights, no bad indications. I put the truck in park and it cranked right up. Everything I have read leads me to believe its the CPS. Seems to be running fine today. I am thinking I should swap out the CPS just to be safe. I dont want to be stranded on the side of the road somewhere. What do you guys think?
Also, if I replace the CPS, since the old one hasnt completely failed, would it be feasible to hold on to the old one as a spare that could possibly at least get me to a shop, or home, as opposed to being stuck on the side of the road?
In my search I found part # F7TZ-12KO73-B, will this one work on all 7.3s? More specifically, my 2003 7.3? BTW, the truck has about 90,000 miles.
That sure sounds like the CPS...I'd use the same approach that you describe, buy a new one and keep the old one as a spare. That is the correct part number, I believe...should be around $25.
