Hey fellas,
Been a while since I've been here. I was under my truck (95 F-150, 2wd). I bought this truck new and it has spent it's entire life here in the salt/rust belt. I was under it the other day, and was looking at the FRONT spring perches. They LOOK rusty, and I can chip some chunks off of them. I was just wondering if anybody else has ever had to replace these perches due to rust.
THanks in advance.
Jeffs Bronco Graveyard sells replacement coil spring towers.
They sell one that has mounting for dual shocks but will still work for trucks that only have a single shock.
I believe the spring towers are held on by some bolts and rivets.
Yes I have heard of several swaps or patches. I wash mine well every thaw and remove any loose piant. The parts truck I just got rid of they were fine. But yep salts fun isn't it.
Salt will eat them, check up on the top. I just posted about them in another post. They arent hard to do.. Need a way to cut and chisel out the rivits, clean up the frame in that area. Get some Grade 8 bolts, nuts and flat washers and go to town. Takes a little over and hour sometimes a lil more but not bad at all to do...
