blah...blah....blah....

Is this a straight up trade!?

The V10 Excursion is VERY reliable. Probably more so that the Expy, IMO.

I would say if you don't mind going from 15 mpg average to about 10 mpg. Go for it.

I for one would make the trade in a heartbeat if I could afford to gas that pig up. I did have an F250 with the V10 as a work vehicle and I know the mileage these motor can ( or cannot ) get.

Plus an Excursion wouldn't fit in my garage.

It's a good deal provided the options are comperable. The Excursion is a 250 while the Expy is a 150. Much tougher truck, more space, and you'll like the V10, except for the mileage.

Well its actually a better deal than anyone thinks, i sell cars on the side, i go to auctions.. i ROBBED an excusion there, (the one in question) i bought it for $5,000!! its a black limited with 120K.. i cant afford to keep 2 rigs, but because i bought it so cheap i am thinking to sell my personal expy instead and keep the excursion. i could EASYLY get 8,000 for my expy, so in actuality i could get the EXCURSION and 3k cash.. if this wasnt the situation, i would NEVER EVEN think about getting rid of my expy i love it so much!! the 5.4 has been SOO reliable to me.. i just dont know what to do!! if there is anything i should check the EXCURSION for PLEASE do tell, i know NOTHING about thease trucks, anything they are known for??? Personally, the only thing holding me up is that i will miss my auto headlights alot, and i will REALLY MISS MY DIGITAL CLIMATE VERY MUCH!!!! other than that it has every option my expy has.. (sigh) dont know what to do!!

Speaking from experience, the more room you have to haul gear or passengers comfortably for that matter, will easily trump the options you list being in the Expy, but not in it's big brother.

Plus I'm willing to bet it rides better than the Expy.

Besides it being a great deal, David -- what do you use either for? Do you tow? The X is the tow machine of the two, but the Expy tows well too, and will turn circles around the X and you don't have to plan out your trips to the stores (park anywhere, don't have to signal down to the engine room to initiate a turn with full reverse on starboard, etc. ). We love our Expy too, but would upgrade to a late '05 PSD one if the opportunity came along (they turn tighter). You likely could sell your Expy and drive the X for a bit and sell it and make even more money on the deal, if you decide it's too big or too much gas etc....

I'm a bit of a wheeler dealer too, so I'd go for it and see where the adventure takes you....!

Good luck!

Really? I would have thought with the longer wheelbase it would ride better.

If it was up to me and the expidition is paid for just buy the Excursion. My wife has the Expedition and i drive the Excursion. Yes our garage is full. Both have their advantages but if i had to pick one it would be the Excursion. We pull a trailer and when ever we travel it is the Excursion for comfort and room. Good luck on your decision if you want you can PM with questions.

I have had a 2001 Excursion and woul trade my 04 expy for it in a minute. it had the V10 and it got around the same mileage as my Expy 5.4. Both were 2WD.

Bigger is better in this case. I would go with the V10 - smooth beast!
