carb help

I have a holley 600 4160 im having problems starting my truck it will turn on then die on me right away i have to give it a couple of pumps then it will turn on but i have to leave the gas pressed a little what can cause this problem. Also when it shifts into 3rd gear my truck boggs down the truck has a 302 electric fuel pump with 6psi going into the carb i adjusted my needles and seats so fuel level is fine what else can i check.

Sounds like it's running lean. Vacuum leak? needs larger jets? fuel filter dirty?

What is the list# on the carb?

Start up issue might be choke problem.

Are your idle mixture screws set correct? Is it a reverse idle carb?
